Diana Porter (Jewellery designer of the year 1999) gave up a successful career in arts administration in her mid 40s to study at the Birmingham School of Jewellery.
Her strong, expressive jewellery in silver, gold and diamonds has attracted a keen following. Most of her influences are based on her own personality and philosophy; motivated by the politics of equality, and the way people relate to each other.
The clever and often witty use of words on her jewellery is one of Diana's trademarks. These words are chosen with care to convey meaning and depth. Her work is beautifully crafted and has an intrinsic quality in both design and making. |
